About The Role

To provide professional and comprehensive casework to a caseload of young people appropriate to experience and capabilities. To ensure the highest of professional standards and good overall knowledge of relevant legislation regulation and practice methods

To provide an efficient and cost effective service to young people ensuring that their needs are professionally assessed. 

To make sure every young person will have a professional and comprehensive Pathway Plan and Risk Assessment.

To investigate, evaluate and analyse information on cases, demonstrating clarity of assessment, reliability of information, evidences conclusions and realistic pathway plans. Ensure adequate recording that evidences practice

To develop practice, which takes a holistic view of the individual, locating them in both their immediate and extended social circles, and having full regard to their overall development needs. 

To be familiar with Equal Opportunities good practise and  the Council requirements for diversity and to implement this in all aspects of working practice and promote it in the team, workplace and wider organisation.

To ensure that all case management complies with the statutory requirements and the Council’s policies and procedures

To ensure the Team Manager is kept fully appraised of problems arising from workload and seek advice as and when necessary.

To be meticulous in record-keeping and insightful in casework consultations. 

To use ICT as required to maintain accurate case records, and to be able to report on key performance management data.

To proactively liaise with and work in partnership other agencies and organisations, parents and carers. 

To attend reviews, various meetings and court if required for each case presenting the Council plans and opinions with professionalism and integrity.

About You

Experience
Experience of advocating on behalf of children, families and other agencies.
Experience of offering therapeutic assessment to children.
Experience of planning, executing and reviewing social work practice.
Experience of preparing and presenting case conference reports.
Experience of reviewing care packages.
Be able to demonstrate maintaining key performance indicators and ensuring timeliness of report/assessments
 
Skills
Ability to analyse new cases and refer a correct course of action. 
Strong communication skills with the ability to inform and advise.
A versatile approach to work with the ability to contribute across multi-disciplinary teams and organisations.
Comprehensive understanding of Practice Policy with a commitment to continual self-development and learning. 
Ability to undertake initial and core assessments.
 
Personal Attributes
A tactful and empathetic approach to working with children, capable of building trust and understanding.
Honesty and integrity in all matters. 
Understanding of diversity and self-awareness of potential personal bias in working with diverse groups.

Along with a competitive salary there is a bonus of £7'500 upon three years and one day of continuous service, coupled with an above inflation yearly enhancement* every April moving up two pay grades within your respective pay band.
